Midsommer Mehendi
12 noon, 3rd of April

How to Dress

Midsommer Mehendi brings together the spirit of Swedish Midsummer and an Indian wedding tradition. Midsummer is a celebration of light, nature, and togetherness: a time to gather, enjoy the long days, flowers, and the feeling of summer at its fullest.

Mehendi (henna) is traditionally applied to mark love, marriage, and good fortune, offering blessings for a joyful and meaningful union.

Indian summers are hot! The temperatures are likely to be between 36°C (97°F) to 37°C (99°F), although the event will have some air-conditioning. Think festive, floral, and colourful if you'd like.

Sangeet & Cocktail
Chandni Raat
8 pm, 3rd of April

How to Dress

A sangeet is a celebratory evening filled with music, dance, and togetherness, traditionally held in the days leading up to a wedding. This one is all about letting loose and celebrating, with a DJ, dancing, and a lively cocktail atmosphere as the night unfolds.

Inspired by Chandni Raat, a moonlit night, the vibe is festive, glamorous, and a little magical: think warm lights, movement, laughter, and celebration under the glow of the evening.

Traditional Indian festive wear such as a Sari, Lehenga, Shervani's, or Kurtas is what would usually be worn at this event. Formal suits and evening dresses would also look great. Come ready to dance, enjoy the music, and celebrate into the night!

Wedding Day: Baraat, Pheras and Reception

How to Dress

The Baraat
5:30 pm, 4th of April

Before the wedding ceremony begins, the baraat is the groom’s joyous arrival: a lively procession full of music, dance, and celebration. Family and friends come together to welcome the groom and kick off the wedding day in high spirits.

The groomsmen play an important role in keeping the energy going. They help lead the dancing, cheer on the procession, and make sure the baraat stays fun and vibrant. Think of them as the life of the party!

Pheras
 6:30 pm, 4th of April

The wedding day is centred around the pheras, which are the heart of a Hindu wedding ceremony. The pheras are seven symbolic circles taken together around a sacred fire, each one representing a shared promise: including love, trust, respect, friendship, and a commitment to walk through life side by side. The fire is present as a witness, symbolising warmth, truth, and continuity.

The evening will be formal, followed by a celebratory party reception. For guests not wearing Indian attire, formal wear is recommended: a suit, or an evening dress. It is traditional to wear festive colours on this day!
